We are delighted to offer this remarkable coffee from Uganda. Sipi Falls is known for quality, but this vibrant offering has a floral aroma and juicy flavor in the cup which is unique and highly prized for this region. Uganda coffees typically have a dense, heavy body and are often chosen as a base note in a blend (this offering from Sipi Falls could easily fit this bill) But roasted at a lighter profile, our traders were excited to find jasmine, black tea, and even cinnamon.
This coffee is sourced from family owned farms located in the Bugisu region on the slopes of Mount Elgon in the Kapchorwa district, Uganda. The Bugisu region is named after the Bugisu people who are indigenous to this area. The Sipi Falls coffee project, named after a trio of majestic waterfalls, was established in 1999 to strengthen quality coffee production in the region and create a sustainable income for farmers.
