Organic stout has never been easier! This is a strong stout with a nice balance of dry & sweet and a medium hop bitterness. It is also easy to make this stout into an oatmeal stout by adding one pound of organic oat flakes (purchase separately) to the specialty grains. Contains organic malt extract, organic specialty malts, organic hops, organic bottling sugar, Irish Moss, recipe, and instructions. Produces an original gravity of approximately 1.062. IBU's: 49. Recommended yeast for this kit (Not included! Order separately): Wyeast #1084 Irish Ale, or White Labs Irish Ale.
***NOTE: If you choose the option to purchase the kit without DME or corn sugar for bottling you will need to supply your own bottling sugar (corn sugar, DME, etc.). You may not need bottling sugar if you plan to keg your beer.

Good and simple brew that I started with. Tastes like a decent quality stout. Add stuff like coffee/chocolate or cherry flavor if you want more pizazz. However it was fine as it was as well.

My son and I decided to brew. This easy kit was fun to make and made for a great first experience with home brewing. 8 days after bottling we tried our first one and it is a delicious stout. Flavor is crisp from the hops and smoky. Nice creamy head at pour. At 11 days after bottling we took it to Portland where my daughter and her boyfriend gave it there seal of approval. They know their beer and he brews some great Belgians.
So if you are thinking of giving it a try I can recommend this kit. My son and I love a strong IPA and this stout has a good bite with a smooth smoky finish.
