Perhaps one of the most versatile beer styles, because there are so many things you can easily add to make this a unique and memorable brew. Try organic vanilla beans for a vanilla porter; brew with coffee for a coffee Porter or add chocolate for a Mocha. Also works well with cherries, raspberries, or blackberries! A full bodied, robust ale with a distinct chocolate taste, moderately low hop bitterness, and a full hop aroma. A satisfying brew especially welcome on a crisp autumn day, our porter is milder than a stout, but heartier than a Nut Brown Ale. Contains organic malt extract, organic specialty malts, organic hops, organic bottling sugar, organic Irish Moss, recipe, and instructions. Produces an original gravity of approximately 1.058. IBU's: 33. Recommended yeast for this kit (Not included! Order separately): Wyeast #1028 London Ale, or White Labs English Ale.
***NOTE: If you choose the option to purchase the kit without DME or corn sugar for bottling you will need to supply your own bottling sugar (corn sugar, DME, etc.). You may not need bottling sugar if you plan to keg your beer.

Solid, Versitile Brew

This was my fourth batch, and first partial mash that I've brewed. As the product description suggested, I made this into a coffee porter. Initially, after brewing and primary fermenting it I was dubious as to how it would turn out. I was smelling esters, and fruit before bottling so this worried me. But after tasting, all my doubts were quashed. This brew is good! I suggest aging 6 or more weeks. My boss said it was the best beer he has ever had! That is quite a compliment for a new brewer, so my hats off to Sven Bridges!
P.S. If wanting to make a coffee porter, use 4-6oz of organic coffee that has been cold water extracted and add it to the secondary.
