Rhizomes are the best way to produce strong, healthy, female plants. The female plants produce the hop flowers that are used for brewing. Hops (Humulus lupulus) grow well in temperate climates and prefer lots of sunlight and water and well-draining soil. They are a climbing vine plant that can reach lengths of up to 18 feet. Hops are a perennial that grow back from the rhizome each spring and die back to the crown in the fall. Most varieties do not produce many (if any) flowers in the first year, but will produce hops for many years if properly cared for.
We recommend ordering at least 2 of each type of rhizome to ensure a successful planting.
Please note: Seven Bridges does not accept any responsibility for crop failures. Please research your local soil and climate conditions very well before purchasing rhizomes and make sure that you have a suitable spot to grow hops in. Due to the large number of factors that could cause a failed planting, we cannot offer any refunds or reimbursements for rhizomes that fail to grow. All rhizomes shipped out from Seven Bridges will be viable and in good condition before reaching you, beyond that it is on our customers to make sure their rhizomes succeed.
