UPS
Ground Shipping Rates: We
ship most orders by UPS ground. Shipping cost
is based on weight and we charge what UPS
charges us to ship your package. If
you order online, the shipping cost is calculated
once the items you wish to order are added to
the shopping cart and you enter the ship to address.
If you are mailing or faxing an order you will
need the shipping quote before the order is sent
to us. Here are the options for obtaining a shipping
quote:

you
know the exact shipping weight of your order
(include an extra 10% for the weight of the
box and packaging), you may use the ups shipping

shipping weight, and our zip code, and rates
and times in transit will be displayed. Please
note that time in transit starts from the date
the order shipped, which is usually but not always

Rate Calculator: If

***ORDERS
THAT WEIGH OVER 150 lbs***
Our
shopping cart cannot compute the actual shipping
cost for orders that weigh over 150 lbs. If ordering
heavy items online, the shopping cart will bill
you a $99 temporary rate. This is not a flat rate
to ship your order. The actual cost will be calculated
by our shipping department and we will contact
you to authorize the actual shipping charge. For
orders over 200 lbs, the rate will include the
hundredweight discount if shipped by UPS ground.
SHIPPING & BACK
ORDERS:
We
ship most orders within one business day of receiving
them. If an order is received by 12 PM on a weekday
we will ship it the same day (except for very
large orders). We are a small business with a
small staff, so there are days when we have lots
of orders to ship and we cannot ship all of the
orders on that day. When this happens (most often
on Mondays), we always ship the orders in the
order that we received them. We really appreciate
your understanding! We do not back order or substitute
items without contacting you first: If we are
out of an item we will call or e-mail for instructions,
unless the item is a closeout that is no longer
available, in which case it will be dropped from
the order. We have chosen UPS as our main carrier
and no longer have a daily Fedex pick up. If
you wish to have an order shipped by Fedex, we
can do so but a $3 handling fee will apply and
an extra day for delivery time will be added
because we have to bring Fedex orders to
the local Fedex depot which is 4 miles
from our warehouse.
C.O.D.
ORDERS:
We
do not accept COD orders. Check or money orders
can be mailed to the address on the order
form
EXPRESS
SHIPPING:
If
you are in a rush we can ship your order via
UPS Next Day, 2nd Day, or 3 Day Air to zones
A & B. Zone C Shipments are always shipped
USPS Priority Mail, but can be shipped overnight
upon request. If you wish NEXT DAY AIR Shipping,
you must place your order by telephone. Orders
shipped by an expedited method are billed the
actual cost of shipping & insurance.
Special
Notice: On October 1, 2007, Flat rate
shipping ended.
For
many reasons, the time came for us to
end the flat rate shipping program we
have offered for many years. Shipping
costs rose so much in recent years that
we were forced to inflate our prices
to cover the extra shipping, making our
prices seem outrageous to some customers,
and certainly unfair to customers who
live geographically closer to us. From
an environmental standpoint, the flat
rate shipping discouraged our customers
from seeking more local sources of heavy
items as the flat rate actually was an
incentive to ship as much weight clear
across the country as possible. Also
our web store never automatically applied
the correct flat rate shipping (a feature
that is not an option without switching
e-commerce providers) forcing us to make
it an honor based system which has been
confusing for many of our customers.
The new shipping system in our online
store will be much simpler: the shopping
cart will correctly charge the actual
shipping rate based on the destination
zip code, shipping method, and weight
of items ordered.
With

Certified
Organic Homebrew!
All
of the products labeled organic that we sell are certified
organic by California certified Organic Farmers, a USDA recognized
agency. The USDA federal rule guarantees you, the consumer, organic
products that are grown without toxic pesticides, herbicides, or
fertilizers. Buying organic will insure that the food products
you consume contain no genetically modified organisms (GMO's),
and are free from irradiation. In addition, buying certified organic
means all of the equipment and storage facilities have been inspected
to make sure no harmful chemicals are used in cleaning equipment
or pest management, and no chemical or other potentially harmful
processing aids or additives are used in the processing of organic
