Decaf Sumatra Takengon (Fair Trade)

From the scenic highland slopes of the Gayo Mountains near Laut Tawar in the Takengon region of Northern Sumatra, comes the exotically aromatic Takengon Sumatra coffee. There are over 200 small coffee producers who contribute to this very important OCIA certified organic coffee production. The farmers and communities of this remote region face a number of environmental and socio-economic challenges, including soil erosion, deforestation, low and unstable incomes. The organization, production, technical assistance and higher prices for certified organic coffee help these remote farmers by being able to generate a better income for themselves and improve the economic basis in the communities. This coffee is Certified organic, Fair Trade, and Water Process decaffeinated (a chemical free process). This decaf has rich flavor, full body and low acidity. Takes a variety of roasts from City through espresso. This coffee is great as a varietal, blender and perfect for espresso.

UPS & Fedex Ground Shipping Rates: Shipping cost is based on weight and we charge what UPS charges us to ship your package. If you order online, the shipping cost is calculated once the items you wish to order are added to the shopping cart and you enter the ship to address. For mail and fax orders you will need the shipping quote before the order is sent to us. Here are the options for obtaining a shipping quote:

This means orders must be placed by 12 pm to be shipped by Priority Mail the following day. SHIPPING & BACK ORDERS:

We ship most orders within one business day of receiving them. If an order is received by 12 PM on a weekday we will ship it the same day (except for very large orders). We are a small business with a small staff, so there are days when we have lots of orders to ship and we cannot ship all of the orders on that day. When this happens (most often on Mondays), we always ship the orders in the order that we received them. We really appreciate your understanding! We do not back order or substitute items without contacting you first: If we are out of an item we will call or e-mail for instructions, unless the item is a closeout that is no longer available.

C.O.D. ORDERS:

We do not accept COD orders. Check or money orders can be mailed to the address on the order form

EXPRESS SHIPPING:

If you are in a rush we can ship your order via UPS Next Day, 2nd Day, or 3 Day Air to the contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, and other overseas U.S. destinations are always shipped USPS Priority Mail, but can be shipped UPS 2 Day Air upon request. If you wish NEXT DAY AIR Shipping, you must place your order by telephone. Orders shipped by an expedited method are billed the actual cost of shipping & insurance.

All of the products labeled organic that we sell are certified organic by California certified Organic Farmers, a USDA recognized agency. The USDA federal rule guarantees you, the consumer, organic products that are grown without toxic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Buying organic will insure that the food products you consume contain no genetically modified organisms (GMO's), and are free from irradiation. In addition, buying certified organic means all of the equipment and storage facilities have been inspected to make sure no harmful chemicals are used in cleaning equipment or pest management, and no chemical or other potentially harmful processing aids or additives are used in the processing of organic foods.
