8% Ave. Alpha. Recognized as a dual purpose hop because it has a respectable alpha acid level combined with a good hop aroma. Originally bred from Northern Brewer rootstock in the late sixties, this hop has become a staple for many English breweries, and is at its best in styles such as ESB, porter, stout, barley wine, and brown ale. The aroma is strong with refined spicy notes. A good substitute for Northern Brewer or Perle hops.
