After months and months of waiting for the new shipment of Antigua mills, the new and improved coffee mills have arrived. Although they appear the same on the outside, internally the grinding mechanism has been reengineered to provide an even better grind and smoother operation. Bodum is a well known manufacturer of quality household tools and appliences, and this mill is no exception. This is the mill we use at the shop to grind our own coffee. The Antigua burr mill is a scaled down version of the mills commonly used in espresso bars and gourmet cafes around the globe. Instead of pulverizing and heating the beans the way a simple blade mill will do, the burr mill actually cuts the coffee beans into uniform size pieces rather than crushing them. A special feature of this mill are the specially developed gears that prevent the beans from overheating.
Features include a built in storage bin that holds up to a pound of roasted coffee and a timer-switch to grind any amount of coffee up to 8 cups at a time. The grinder can be adjusted from a coarse French press setting to a fine Italian espresso setting. Bodum's Antigua takes all kinds of roasts, from the very dark oily espressos to the lighter and dryer roasts of filter coffee.
