American Summit Organic Whole Hops

13% Avg. Alpha. Our new shipment of farm fresh whole Summit hops have arrived! We ordered a full bale of these hops and the pungent aromas of herbal and citrus wafted through the warehouse as we quickly packed it into oxy-barrier foil vacuum bags to capture the strong, pleasant aroma through the rest of the year. Grown in the Yakima Valley of the Pacific Northwest by a family farm with generations of experience growing hops, and one of the first to grow certified organic hops on a large scale here in the United States. These are bittering hops with a strong citrus or grapefruit aroma. The strong pungent aroma has herbal notes reminiscent of a good Australian Pride of Ringwood hop. With the strong citrus character, Summit is a good choice for an American style IPA. Summit is the first dwarf hop to be bred for production in the United States. They are grown on a low trellis requiring hand picking so the hop cones are hand selected and less damaged than machine harvested hops. Recommended substitute for Galena, Simcoe, Cascade, or Pride of Ringwood.

UPS Ground Shipping Rates: We ship most orders by UPS ground. Shipping cost is based on weight and we charge what UPS charges us to ship your package. If you order online, the shipping cost is calculated once the items you wish to order are added to the shopping cart and you enter the ship to address. If you are mailing or faxing an order you will need the shipping quote before the order is sent to us. Here are the options for obtaining a shipping quote:

Please note that time in transit starts from the date the order shipped, not the day you place the order. Our mail carrier picks up orders at 10 am on most days. This means orders must be placed by 12 pm to be shipped by Priority Mail the following day. Orders placed after noon that are being shipped by Priority Mail will not ship the next day, they will ship the day after. ORDERS THAT WEIGH OVER 150 lbs

Our shopping cart cannot compute the actual shipping cost for orders that weigh over 150 lbs. If ordering heavy items online, the shopping cart will bill you a $99 temporary rate. This is not a flat rate to ship your order. The actual cost will be calculated by our shipping department and we will contact you to authorize the actual shipping charge. For orders over 200 lbs, the rate will include the hundredweight discount if shipped by UPS ground.

SHIPPING & BACK ORDERS:

We ship most orders within one business day of receiving them (except for orders shipped via the US Post Office, which can take up to 1 extra day for processing). If an order is received by 12 PM on a weekday we will ship it the same day (except for very large orders and USPS orders). We are a small business with a small staff, so there are days when we have lots of orders to ship and we cannot ship all of the orders on that day. When this happens (most often on Mondays), we always ship the orders in the order that we received them. We really appreciate your understanding! We do not back order or substitute items without contacting you first: If we are out of an item we will call or e-mail for instructions, unless the item is a closeout that is no longer available, in which case it will be dropped from the order.

C.O.D. ORDERS:

We do not accept COD orders. Check or money orders can be mailed to the address on the order form

EXPRESS SHIPPING:

If you are in a rush we can ship your order via UPS Next Day, 2nd Day, or 3 Day Air to zones A & B. Zone C Shipments are always shipped USPS Priority Mail, but can be shipped overnight upon request. If you wish NEXT DAY AIR Shipping, you must place your order by telephone. Orders shipped by an expedited method are billed the actual cost of shipping & insurance.

All of the products labeled organic that we sell are certified organic by California certified Organic Farmers, a USDA recognized agency. The USDA federal rule guarantees you, the consumer, organic products that are grown without toxic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Buying organic will insure that the food products you consume contain no genetically modified organisms (GMO's), and are free from irradiation. In addition, buying certified organic means all of the equipment and storage facilities have been inspected to make sure no harmful chemicals are used in cleaning equipment or pest management, and no chemical or other potentially harmful processing aids or additives are used in the processing of organic foods.
