The long awaited new model coffee roaster from Freshbeans has arrived in our warehouse. There are actually 2 models. Both models have double the capacity of the Freshroast Plus 8 model- up to 120 grams or or about a quarter of a pound per roast cycle. Some other design improvements include a digital timer, a better chaff collecting basket, and the roasting jar has an improved base that will not overheat with dark roasts, which caused problems with warping in the previous model. The SR series roasters are quiet so you can hear the crackling of the beans, and the small chamber and fan make this one of the more energy efficient coffee roasters on the market.
The SR300 is a basic, no frills roaster which is a great for beginners roaster with a preset temperature setting and an adjustable digital timer. The maximum time to set the timer is 9.9 minutes. At any point during the roast sequence you can add 6 seconds with each tap of the button. Time can be subtracted using the same method. The timer can be overridden by tapping the "Cool" button, causing the roaster to go into the cooling mode for 3 minutes.
