ORGANIC LIQUID MALT EXTRACT

Briess Brewer's Gold: 3.5- 4.0 ^¾L. Light in color, this extract is a good choice as a base for all styles of beers. Unhopped, with no additives or preservatives. For extract Brewers looking for darker extract, use a small amount of specialty grain (chocolate, black, or caramel) steeped in hot water like a tea, and add to your brew for superior results. Made of U.S. grown certified organic barley. Ferments down to a specific gravity of 1.010- 1.016.

We package extract to order in food grade plastic vacuum pouches (except for the 12# buckets), and encase the pouches in a sturdy cardboard box. You may also order extract by the pound in any quantity from over 3# up to 60#. Extract that is vacuum packaged has an excellent shelf life of up to 12 months. Extract is best used fresh, but will store well for months, especially if kept cool. If stored for long periods of time, the extract that is packaged in buckets or pails may develop surface mold. Because of the density of the extract and the high sugar content, the extract is still usable once this occurs as the mold cannot grow below the surface, and any bacteria present will be killed in the boil. All of our extract is certified organic under the USDA National Organic Program by California Certified Organic Farmers.
